Officially named the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, George Lucas's funded venue finally opened after 17 years of planning, design, and construction. The cost: over $1 billion.

Lucas and his wife, Mellody Hobson, hosted a star-studded kick-off event on September 22nd. All of Hollywood's A-list glitterati were in attendance. Lucas settled upon Los Angeles for the museum after failed efforts in San Francisco and Chicago.
Now open to the public, it's definitely worth a visit if you're in LA.
