Celebrities and other Hollywood moguls have long been associated with sports teams - but investment/ownership has now reached mega-levels.
Jay-Z purchased a portion of the Brooklyn Nets over two decades ago but in recent times many new celeb investors have sprung up in soccer, pickleball, sailing, and the list goes on.
To put things in perspective, the average NBA team is worth $4.6 billion and $7.1 billion for an NFL team. And it's just not American teams but European teams and sports franchises are in the mix.
Notable celeb investors include Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn, Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Dwayne Johnson, Will Smith, Snoop Dog, Anne Hathaway, Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman etc..... the list goes on.
Although investment in U.S. teams is hot, European, Australian, and South American sports franchises also make for great investment.
