It looks as though there is a trend towards bring back 3D to cinemas; however, the problem is that it will be accomplished using AI.
The trend towards 3D reflects moviegoers' willingness to pay an average price of $18.50 for a 3D admission.
Also, the resurgence is based on the fact that AI technology can dramatically reduce 2D to 3D conversion costs. Estimates are that 2D-to-3D conversion for a tentpole movie would cost about $15 million, but AI usage would bring the cost down to less than $5 million.
